A great family-friendly event posted by our friends from Waikoloa Dry Forest Initiative:
"The wiliwili trees are blooming in Waikoloa and we are happy to invite you to the preserve to enjoy this beautiful time in the forest. This Wednesday and Saturday morning our staff will be guiding a short walking tour of the preserve where you will see several amazing trees in full flower. This year the trees are flowering earlier than we typically expect and we are noticing that most of the trees are covered in blossoms with little or no damage by the Erythrina gall wasp making this one of the best flowering seasons in years!
Please meet us at Quarry road near the Waikoloa Dry Forest Preserve sign. We will provide transportation to and from the preserve. Be prepared for a short hike over rugged terrain; water bottles and sun protection are recommended. RSVP by clicking the links below or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Bring your camera, they don't last long!"
