Post-fire runoff/erosion is just one of the many stressors on our coastlines. There are many ways to help -- by becoming a citizen scientist you can help discover what is in your water and what it tells us about the health of our shorelines.
Coral Reef Alliance and Keep Puako Beautiful are teaming up with a group of other shoreline-protection partners for a morning of citizen scientist training and shoreline cleanup at Paniau on the South end of Puako Beach Drive. As an added bonus, Hawaii Surf and Kayak and Puako Dive Company are providing water gear and kayaks.
All ages are invited to the cleanup. Workshop information is provided by Danielle or Erica at Coral Reef Alliance. Sign up for the cleanup, workshop and RSVP potluck lunch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
