Learn about the new campus, including the Community Landscaping Project - a community approach to designing a vibrant, culturally-significant landscape in and around the campus. We are working with HCC to share our knowledge on Firewise landscaping for wildfire protection, which they plan to integrate into their project.

" Hawai‘i Community College – Pālamanui and the University Center, West Hawai‘i at Pālamanui have been up and running since August 2015. A lot has happened since then, and much is happening now. Come and hear updates about the campus at the Kailua-Kona Library in early February.

Carrie Kuwada Phipps, Educational Specialist for the University Center, will be showcasing all programs offered through the new campus, which includes certificates, Associate degrees, Bachelor’s degrees, Post-Graduate Certificates, Master’s and Doctorate degrees, and non-credit offerings.

She will also discuss Pālamanui’s once-in-a-lifetime event, the Grand Opening and Community Open House that’s happening Saturday, Feb. 27; the exciting and progressive Community Landscaping Project; free upcoming workshops; and on-site help with the Fall 2016 online application process.  Now is the ideal time to apply for Fall 2016 and because the financial aid priority deadline is March 1.

These outreach events are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 5 from 3-5 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon; and Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 3-5 p.m. at the Kailua-Kona Library.

Come and see what’s happening at the most happening place for higher education in West Hawai‘i! For more information, please contact Carrie Kuwada Phipps at 969-8808."
