Our partners from Waikoloa Dry Forest Initiative are holding a tree planting this weekend!
"We will be finishing up a busy first month of the year with an opportunity to plant trees in the forest preserve. This month we have been focusing on filling in areas that have been planted in previous years to increase the abundance and density of our native plants. Join us for a morning of planting this Saturday from 8am-12pm. We will finish up our day with some refreshments and talk story with our staff. Please meet at the junction of Waikoloa Road and Quarry Road where we will organize and carpool into the preserve. Please bring a water bottle and be prepared for the hot Waikoloa sun and walking on 'a'a. We will provide tools, gloves and extra water. See you then!"
